Court Rules and Procedures Committee
The Court Rules and Procedures Committee studies and develops suggested amendments to designated sets of court rules on a regular cycle of review established by the Washington Supreme Court. It also responds to requests for comment from the Court on proposals developed by others. The committee performs the rules-study function outlined in General Rule 9 and reports its recommendations to WSBA's Board of Governors.

- Rules Adopted and Rules published for comment (by the WSBA Court Rules and Procedures Committee or others)?
- On Nov. 21, 2018, the Supreme Court ordered suggested amendments to APR 28 published for comment. The comment period expires Feb. 1, 2019. See Supreme Court Order 25700-A-1249 for more information.
- For the Oct. 1, 2017–Sept. 30, 2018, term, the Court Rules and Procedures Committee will review the Criminal Rules for Superior Courts and the Criminal Rules for Courts of Limited Jurisdiction. For more information, please see the review cycle established by the state Supreme Court.
The committee is seeking feedback from stakeholders on draft Mandatory Arbitration Rules (MAR) 7.2. Stakeholder input is crucially important in the rule-making process and assists the Committee in making an informed decision. Read the proposed Mandatory Arbitration Rules 7.2

Pursuant to court order, the committee publicizes suggested rule changes for public comment before finalizing its recommendations. Members of the bar, bench, and public are encouraged to review these proposals and send comments to the committee.
Suggested rule changes should be submitted to the Washington Supreme Court pursuant to the procedures set forth in GR 9(e); comments on published proposed rule changes should be submitted to the Court pursuant to GR 9(g). Please send courtesy copies of your submissions to:
